Fun With A Purpose |
This brand new LCM publication by recently retired missionary Sylvena Farrant was developed as a result of her appointment to work with older people in a nursing home in the Bromley area. She found there were very few things available to the elderly and disabled to aid them as they journeyed through this most difficult time of their lives.
| | Being ‘bored to death’ can be literally true and those feeling like this seldom want to hear the Good News. Engaging them with some worthwhile activity and encouraging them to get involved may result in their ‘coming back to life’ again and then hopefully wanting to know the Lord of life. | Sylvena’s work has generated tremendous interest. She writes: “There are a number of people and organisations, too many to mention by name, without whose help, encouragement and prayers this manual would never have come into being. I am especially indebted to David Heydon, the Director of Outlook Trust and his wife Judy who launched in me the idea of producing this manual after I had shared some of my games at their annual conference. Then, over many months, Judy in particular provided many hours of practical assistance in bringing things together. ‘Fun with a Purpose’ is a fully-illustrated wiro-bound book packed with over 40 games and craft ideas, all freely photocopiable. | ‘Fun with a purpose’ retails at £14.99 and is available from: Outlook Trust, The Wycliffe Centre, Horsleys Green, High Wycombe, Bucks.
